School Dispensary

The school needs to have its own dispensary, if the children and Staff doesn’t maintain adequate health, the benefits of education will be lost because of absenteeism or lack of attention due to ill health and consequently a poor academic performance.

Students who use school-based health services benefit in many ways. They spend more time in class because they tend to be sick less often and don't have to take as much time off school to get to appointments.

Maintaining student and staff health, safety, and welfare is a primary goal for Bethlehem Star school system. If a child becomes sick, injured, or seems in any other way incapacitated at school, it is the responsibility of the school to provide first aid care and, if necessary, contact the parents and direct the child to outside treatment.

There are, moreover, significant resources potentially available at the school compound for the expansion of this service to students, academic staff, other workers and other surrounding community.

Bethlehem Star wishes to have a dispensary with nurse's office which will be used for the prevention of illness, early detection and correction of health problems. The school nurse will fulfill these goals through a combination of screening, diagnostic, and treatment services for minor and common problems, major, and acute problems shall be referred to other big health centers and District hospital. School dispensary shall have a rest area with beds, first aid medicines, storage for medical records, first aid and ancillary supplies, and students' medicines, 

Our immediate need for this project is to have first aid medicines, simple diagnostic equipment and a nurse.
